Hopia Mongo (Mung Bean Pastry)

Hopia is a Chinese-Filipino pastry traditionally filled with either mung beans (Hopia Mongo)

A popular Filipino bean filled pastry originally introduced by Fujianese immigrants in urban centres of the Philippines around the start of the American civil occupation. It is a widely-available inexpensive treat and a favoured gift for friends and relatives.

Ingredients:

Mung Bean (67%), Cane Sugar, Corn Oil, Palm Oil, Wheat Flour, Water, Salt

Features:

In the late 80s, Eng Bee Tin was the first to introduce modern hopia flavors starting with the world-renowned “Hopia Ube”. In 2019, there are more than 25 different flavors and variations of the Hopia introduced by Eng Bee Tin.

Usage:

Ideal as a snack.

Preparation:

• Microwave – 30 seconds or until soft
• Toaster – Thaw then toast for 5 minutes
• Pan Grill – Thaw then grill for 2 minutes on each side

Storage:

Please freeze Eng Bee Tin Hopia upon arrival if you choose not to consume it immediately.
If you do not freeze it, shelf life is up to 14 days.
