Description
Very common fish around the Philipine islands and first cousin of the British mackeral. Alumahan is a creamy, firm fleshed, oil-rich fish, good for your heart yet deliceously nutritious. Usually pan-fried or BarBQed but can be used in Sinigang or pickled using spicy vinegar. Individually packed and frozen. Tip for British husbands – try it fried then add a sprinkling of black pepper and vinegar – mmm.
