To get perfect cooked rice whatever the grade or brand of rice, – remember that the amount of water to be added for cooking will vary according to how it has been dried. Experimentation with the amount of added cooking water will guarantee a perfect cooked rice.
Both Basmati and Thai Jasmin are aromatic rices having a pleasant appetising smell when cooked. Thai Rice will remain “softer”, (when cooked), for longer, than Basmati.
During the drying process some of the rice grains will crack and break. If the broken grains have then been sieved out, the rice is described as “whole” rice. If not, it is described as “broken” rice.
